The Glide Foundation consists of several service divisions within three buildings in the Tenderloin region of San Francisco. Each division serves one aspect of their clients' human services needs, from food and healthcare to housing and job training. Glide needed a way for departments to share information about each other's services, procedures and clients, as well as an effective means to refer clients to other service divisions within the organization, as well as to outside agencies and programs.
Datasushi developed a custom Intranet application, driven by a centralized Microsoft SQL-Server database. Information on services, policies and procedures and referal practices is presented within the organization. Additionally, commonly used forms are a click away and an agency-wide event and meeting calendar is provided. Individual program staff have secure access and control over their particular site and are able to easily modify their pages, upload forms and create new content without any knowledge of HTML or other web technology (see Content Management tools). All relevant forms and documents are automatically linked to the site and open within Internet Explorer.
